Yucca (Yucca filamentosa)
Partial shade. Zones 7b-10.
Very soil tolerant of both acidic and alkaline soils. Prefers well-drained soils and is drought tolerant once established.
The main part of the plant grows to 3’ tall and 3-4’ wide, with a flower stalk that can grow to 15’ tall.
Specimen or foundation plant.
Although parts are edible, the plant is more valued for its fiber. For example, Chuck uses strips of the leaves to tie blackberries to a trellis.
