 Planting instructions

Pomegranate (Punica granatum)

Exposure: Full sun, conditions similar to fig. Partial shade reduces flowering. Hardiness zones 7-10.
Soil: Prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil.
Growth habits: Shrub or small tree, 6 to 12 feet tall and wide, rounded form with long narrow dark green leaves. Beautiful orange-red flowers in early-mid summer followed by red, 2 to 3 inch delicious, nutritious fruits in the late fall. Fruit may not ripen at higher elevations without using season extension.
Landscape uses: A fine, underutilized summer flowering small tree or shrub. Pomegranate is useful as a container plant, specimen or as a shrub border plant.
Edible/Medicinal properties: Fruits are sweet and juicy. Pomegranate juice is a favorite in the Mediterranean, and dried pomegranate seeds are used as seasonings in India. The fruit is extremely high in vitamins and anti-oxidant compounds, making it a heart-healthy addition to our seasonal diet.

$30.00/3 gal

Available Varieties
