Nettle, Stinging (Urtica dioica)

Plant Characteristics: Herbaceous, dioecious perennial, sun or shade, moist fertile soil, need nitrogen. Grows up to 4 feet, spreading.

Harvest: Aerial parts of young plants, wear gloves, 3-4  harvests per year.

Primary Benefits: Steam as fresh vegetable for spring tonic, rich in iron, dry leaves for teas and infusions. Fresh root is good tonic for prostate.
