Catnip (Nepeta cataria)

Plant Characteristics: Short-lived herbaceous perennial. Hardy, provides the first sign of spring in the herb garden. Downy foliage with dense white-green flowers to 5 feet.
Harvest: Leaves throughout the growing season and especially just before flowering.
Primary Benefits: Mildly sedative and calming tea is made from the leaves, aromatic. Safe for children’s gardens and safe as a tea for children.
